And yet again...

I've fallen out of touch with my dear blog. It's been busy still, and there is soooo much going on that I can't talk about yet. At least not publicly on my blog. And it's so entirely mind encompassing that I can't think of anything to write about. :)

But today is the first day of winter, which means that everything is winding down to take a rest before another year begins in March. I don't really believe in New Years resolutions, but I do believe this is a good time of the year for taking stock of where you are and where you are going. So I plan on taking a New Years Inventory instead of making resolutions.

Ultimatums never work anyway, in any place in your life. You know the saying, "Man plans, God laughs." In my experience, making an ultimatum to yourself or someone else is just asking for the Universe to say "oh really?"

So this year, screw all those plans and reflect on this past year. What worked? What didn't? And think about why you kept doing something that wasn't working. And maybe that's enough. Or maybe you can go further and start focusing on the stuff that works and pull away from the stuff that doesn't.

Don't just say, I'm going on Weight Watchers or I need to quit smoking. Both of these are fine things to do, but if you don't think about the underlying reasons for your bad habits you are trying to break, you will never be able to really change.

Well, I'll be back in a couple weeks and the secret news should start eeking out around that time. Until then, just remember: the only thing worse than failure is regret.
